Windscreen Clean Up
The windscreen was full of light scratches which made driving at night interesting.
Used these YouTube guides and the Ceriglass kit product to clean the windscreen
The Ceriglass kit is very good, I have used other products from Meguiars and Autoglym in the past and their glass polish compounds did not make much difference. They made the windscreen look more like a good clean was done rather than a removing scratching polish process.
Using a machine is definitely needed and as the pads are smaller 75mm and have no padding I had to get a separate machine for the polishing pads.
The cleaning is a long process and took around 4hours to do about 5 separate passes with the machine to get it to come up bright and clean and remove the majority of the windscreen wiper marks and get that newish windscreen look.
The windscreen came up really nice, the process won’t remove deep scratches but even with the cost of a new polisher in the mix it is cheaper and easier than trying to find and get a new screen fitted to a 944 as they are bonded in and the A pillar trim needs to be removed.
I would definitely recommend striping the pop light units down and polishing these also as well as the fog lights if you can get them out. I did this and it gave the front end a cleaner less aged look without having to resort to LED lights and lens which I think look too modern on an 80’s designed cars.
Unfortunately I forgot the before photo so there is just a "here's one I did earlier photo" up close you can see the big chips and wind screen wiper marks
