Airbox

Found some rust under the front compartment where the airbox lives
Cleaned up the rust and the compartment and the airbox

This little connection below cost £39.99 and was on back order for 3 weeks, it snapped as soon as I looked at it 😁 I am loving the pond hose style piping for the front headlight washers, I was under the impression these has been replaced on the cheap but the new one from Porsche on the right was garden pound style also.

Added some more 50mm holes into the front of the air box for more noise and maybe better airflow

Wire brushed and painted the mounting brackets  and used some stainless bolts
Sourced some new rubber mounts from eBay with 6mm thread at both ends, cut the top side down to fit and left the bottoms long so the whole thing is easier to fit and remove.

This area was the rustiest part of the car, with most of the parts brittle and thin from corrosion, so spending some time and grinding back the rust and protecting seemed worth it.

On the left front side of the airbox you can see the original hole for the air feed, hopefully with the new four 50mm holes in the front there will be more induction noise and a bit more urgency in the lower rev range between 2000 - 3500 rpm where is seem to bog a little.
